Summer Bodies… What does that mean to you? For most of us it means taking off some layers and stressing about what we look like. Getting ready for summer can be a good time to start making changes for better health from the inside out.
As an exercise physiologist I mostly focus on exercise, however it is a total change of mindset. I truly understand what that is like; earlier this year I weighed 112kg and summer was a time of year I’d dread, but since making a few very simple changes, understanding how my body ticks, and finding a balance between nutrition, exercise, relationships, career & spirituality for the first time in my life I am NOT on a ”DIET” and I am losing weight.
My top three tips
• Eat REAL food, not processed or packaged stick to real food items and reduce take-away junk food there some healthy take away options available. This includes preservatives, as these chemical additives are very hard for our body to get rid of and we often eat more than our body can handle.
• Get more active, seeing a exercise physiologist can help you set goals work through barriers and make exercise realistic for you!
• Achieve balance; it’s not just a case of energy in and energy out, if we have areas of our life that need addressing such as a career that you despise it could be restricting you from moving past some of the reasons why the weight wont shift.
I am a healthier me, both physically and mentally, feeling stronger and more confident with every kilo that disappears for good. I’m only part way through my journey 24kg lighter, and changing every day. I would love to share with you individualised strategies to help you achieve your goals.
