It is a gentle & highly effective hands-on approach for pain relief and healing that has achieved remarkable results. Suitable for a whole range of conditions, relief from pain and discomfort is often reported on the first visit. Regarded as safe, suitable and effective for people of all ages from newborns to the elderly and infirm and for any condition from acute to chronic including injuries.
Bowen addresses the body as a whole rather than just the presenting symptoms. Rolling-type moves are made with thumbs and fingers to stimulate muscles, soft tissue and energy within the body. These gentle moves can bring about incredible results by penetrating to a deep cellular level, incorporating the body’s unique ability to heal itself.
The principal benefit is the often rapid and long term or permanent remission from pain, reduced stress, greater mobility and improved physical and emotional quality and enjoyment of life. Additional benefits can include increased energy, improvement in the immune system, rebalancing of the body, improved circulation, lymphatic drainage and detoxification.
Bowen is generally very relaxing and pleasant to receive and you can usually feel changes in your body during the session as it releases and relaxes. Most moves are light and can almost feel like very little is being done although the results speak for themselves. There are frequent important pauses between moves, to allow the body to integrate and from time to time the therapist may leave the room for a few minutes to allow your body to integrate.
