Heel Pain is a very common complaint
It’s a good bet whenever a nurse stops me to ask a personal question…we are going to be talking about heel pain.
I’ve had it so I know it hurts…Heel pain comes in all shapes and sizes with all sorts of scary twists but I can understand why people turn to the internet to solve their pain…they just want the pain to go away.
Sadly when they finally hobble in they have been to lots of internet sites and even paid good money hoping for a solution to their pain. Some have even been to other health professionals or the local Chemist and forked over big money for various appliances to try and get pain free.
One of my first questions will be “Who has diagnoses the condition causing the heel pain…and what do they think it is”?
Heel pain has to be caused by something…
All heel pains are not created equal even though the most common condition is Plantar fasciitis.
What if your heel pain is not related to Plantar fasciitis?
Here is a brief list of other conditions that can cause heel pain:
•heel pad atrophy
and the list goes on….
Still in the mood for a little self diagnosis… have a read of the Heel Pain Brochure from the Australian Podiatry association.
If in doubt make an appointment with us at Yin Health…
