Congratulations Tsu Shan – ‘Outstanding Business Woman of the Year’ 2013!
It has been 3 years since we opened our doors at Lake Kawana Blvd and what a whirlwind of a journey it has been! I was quite shocked when they announced my name at the Gala Awards night and it took my loving husband to grab my attention and push me to my feet to accept the award. When I look back at what I’ve achieved, running a business does feel a lot like having a child – when it’s first born, and for the next many years after that, all your energy and time goes towards making sure it grows, prospers and becomes independent. Similarly, regardless of the hard work, seeing your little baby grow up and reach every new milestone can be very rewarding.
The most important lessons I have learned over the years in business are:
1) Think differently
2) Strive to be better
3) Don’t ever give up
4) Work hard and get out there to promote yourself and your business and last but not least,
5) Integrity – you are nothing without it.
Similar to the African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child”, I believe “It takes a community to raise a business”. A BIG thank you to everyone who has supported me and Yin Health over the years – you know who you are. Many thanks also to the Sunshine Coast Business Women’s Network and the amazing, selfless women who are involved in our community. I am now even more resolved to continue to work hard and help other business women aspire to follow their dreams and believe that what may seem impossible can actually be done – that is what inspiration is all about.
